I hope you can help me regarding the paintings from the Estate of Margaret Louise Androwsky - My mother was a painter and when she died, her art collection contained several unfinished or undelivered paintings. As the executor of her estate, I have begun to place these on auction via Amazon.com under the nickname: "manifestbooks". These paintings include many of her portraits of people children and adults, she met while living in Europe. They seem to have been painted at Sembach Air Force Base near Kaiserslautern, Germany in 1962-1964. It is my hope that these pieces of art, painted so many years ago, may find their way back into the hands of the subjects or their families. These may be viewed at the following sites:

Comments: Hi Everyone! Stumbled across this page accidently a few weeks ago, and finally have the time to read through all the comments (so far, I've gotten as far back as 1998!) What a great site....I have so many fond memories of Sembach AFB and of all the friends I made there. I recently contacted Sally Pomeroy and we've exchanged a few emails, and I've sent her a few pictures of our time at Sembach. Does anybody remember Tammy Jones, Alan Beasley, Connie Holloway, Gary Johnson, Matt Jung ( I had a crush on him and Bobby Migliore for YEARS), Morris Price, Brenda Fine? And how to get in touch with Tammy? (And so many others?) I've kept in touch with Kandi Alger (from Ramstein and K-town HS) and she is doing great. Sembach was the best place to spend my teenage years..I remember RP, the AYA, the little theatre (does anybody remember the base flasher??), July 4th, 1976, bus rides to K-town....If you remember me, please feel free to email me!

Comments: After seeing John Haynes' comments, I thought I should put in my own since I referred him to this page. It's been great to scroll through familiar names and memories. I went to 7th & 8th grade at Sembach and then 9th and part of 10th at K-town. We moved to Spain during my sophomore year. At the time I was very involved with the CYO, etc. and was very sad to leave Sembach and my friends. I have so many fond memories of experiences and friendships at Sembach and K-Town. Most of all, I would love to know what Debbie Widick is up to and whether or not she ever made it to West Point! When the academies became open for women she was the first person I thought of! I now live in Madison, WI with my husband Jake and 2 children. I would love to hear from anyone that may remember me. Cheers!

Comments: My name is John Haynes; I lived in Sembach from April 1969 to April 1973, [class of '76] and consider the Sembach Experience to be the happiest of my childhood. These days I live in the Oklahoma City area, where I've been since my dad retired in 1976. The only person from the Sembach days I am still in contact with is Michela Maitland [now Cobb]. We've kept in touch and seen each other from time to time since our Sembach days. Unfortunately, the rest of our gang seems to have dropped off the map. I'd love to hear from any of the people we used to run with---people like Cloyd Laughlin, Scott Henry, Dennis Gardner, Tim Stanback [or any of the Stanback family], Mike Robinson, Mark Hice, or my first girlfriend, Kathy Shipers. I lived in building 34 B-6, near the Little Theater. I have really fond memories of my three years playing Little League football, playing pool at the AYA, the Rod and Gun Club slot machines, sledding down Suicide Hill and Mt. Whitey, Blooper Ball, camping out in the fields off base, taking long hikes through the woods, going to the movies a couple of times a week, shooting marbles on the playground, occasionally stealing a Mercedes Star [as we called them], raising hell in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade on Sembach and 9th grade at K-Town, the German teacher Herr Krause, the gym teacher Mr. Zuckerman, the math teacher Mr. Campbell, Mr. T., Mrs. Greenough, and a rather hippy-esque female art teacher whose name I can't remember but whose ways I always will. You may remember me as the guy who had a great fondness for drawing pictures in class, The Wild Wild West television program, my comic book collection, and anything having to do with motorcycles, especially choppers [and yeah, many years after first watching EASY RIDER at the Big Theater, I finally got myself a '93 Harley FLSTC! Not chopped, though. Sorry.] If you know how I can get hold of a yearbook from that time, please let me know. I'd also love to see any photos of Sembach and any Brats from 69 - 73 you may have. E-mail 'em to me if you can, or tell me where on the Web I might find them. Meantime I'm going to dig through my thousands of photos to try and find some good Sembach Shots to post.
