Special Note: Due to space and time limitations we will no longer post messages from former active duty personnel on this page. We're sorry, but this web space was created to allow dependents and folks associated directly with dependents to find old friends and classmates. While we realize that the military experience overseas was similar with regard to making and then losing touch with friends, we must resrict our meager resources for use by those of us who had no choice but to be there. Sorry.

I'm living in Colorado working for good old DOD as an accountant. I was just thinking about sledding in the fields below the woods. We used to have to keep watch for the farmer with the salt gun! Those were the days :).

Comments: I just wanted to advise her many friends and students of the death of my dear wife Kathy, on November 3, after a long battle with cancer. Kathy was a faculty member at Sembach Elementary and Junior High from 1977 until 1988. Those of you who knew her know how much she cared about her students and how seriously she took the responsibilities of her job.

Comments: Hi! I can't even believe this site exists! Ryan Francisco told me about it. A lot has happened since I left Sembach. I graduated from Mount Holyoke College in MA in May 1998. Majored in biology and minored in Spanish. I am now working for Andersen Consulting in their Metro NY office doing, essentially, computer-based management consulting. I still keep in touch (though, sometimes barely) with Bethany Cowan, Karie Clearwater, Nicole Julian, Ryan Francisco, Misty Cornett, Corkie Rodriguez, Chris Robinson (Gibson) and recently Patricia Lobo. Johnny, my cute, little brother is now 11! Kina is 19! I am living in NJ - about 30-45 minutes outside of New York City. Please write and keep in touch!!!!!

Comments: Hello again. I happened to put me e-mail address down wrong. This page is a miracle. I've been in touch with so many people since last week. I love it! Germany is still great. Getting quite cold and nasty out, though. Did anyone ever forget those gloomy fall days where you didn't see the sun for months! I'm still looking from Rhonda Napier, Laura Dinsmore and Judy Martin. Her name is Judy Tyndall now and the last I heard from her she was living in Mississippi. She's married to a military member so she moves around alot also. Well, I just have to say it again...This page is the (*(*&!! Looking forward to hearing from some old buddies!

Comments: Hi all, It is so wonderful to scan through the comments pages, see the familiar names, and get caught up on peoples lives. It sounds as if long time friends are well, how wonderful. I myself am in Portland, Or. attending Multnomah Biblical Seminary. I am working on a cerfiticate in Biblical Studies with plans to finish up next year with a Masters in Pastoral Studies - Womens Ministries. It has been an incredible experience thus far and I am truly excited about where God shall lead me after this, hopefully back to Europe in the mission field. God is faithful if we but keep our eyes on Him. Stephanie.

Comments: Hello again - I've been reading some former comments from former Sembachers who have been getting news from people still in the area. Sembach is almost a ghost town. The flightline was indeed turned over to the Germans and now they have all kinds of neat stuff there - (go-cart race track, dog kennels, etc.) I've also heard that they plan to open the runway to private air traffic. The base side is still open - chapel, theater, BX (now combined with book store, military clothing, class VI, and shoppette). The housing area is still full of military families stationed in outlying areas. There are still tons of Americans in the area who choose not to live around Ramstein. Vogelweh is getting bigger and bigger!!!! The crime is not different than it was in the 80s. We're just getting older and know more about what's going on. My space is up - Kirstin (Hledik) Jamison

Comments: Hello! I'm too surprised that this actually exists. I've made many attempts to keep in touch with fellow Sembachers but unsuccessful. Yesterday I was at the Sembach Shoppette and bumped into Anthony (Boo boo) Harris and he told me about this page. Sembach is pretty much a ghost town now but it still brings back tons of memories. I'm married now and have 3 parrots (not kids). I spent some time in Vegas and miraculously, my husband got another assignment back to Spangdahlem Germany. I live right outside of Trier. My mother still lives in Langmeil so I frequently visit Sembach. What happened to Rhonda Napier, Laura Dinsmore, etc.? Keep in touch!!!!!

Comments: This is an unbelievable site! I loved the time I spent at Sembach and would really like to hear from some old friends. Jimmy and Shane Cooper were my best buds, but there were lots of people I played football, baseball, wrestling etc. with. If you ever jumped off the coal shoot across the street from the baseball field while playing "Guns" I would love to hear from you. In case none of the above rings a bell I had Ms. Salisbury, Ms. Brooks, Ms.Rinaldi, Ms.Tyler, Ms.Grimes, And Mr.Cavaleri from 1st through 6th grade (ordered acordingly). GO TIGERS!

Comments: Sembach still ranks at the top of my list as the place where I spent the best 3 years of my life. I'm sure most of you can relate to just how great the Sembach experience was. It was such a tight-knit community where we knew most everyone and the AYA was right at the center of everything that went on. Listening to "The Gas Company" (Kotera & Otis) and other bands on weekends and playing for the AYA-sponsored ball teams kept everyone involved. We were a family! I am most proud of the fact that, despite our base being one of the smaller bases in the area, our AYA teams always seemed to dominate the Rhein-Pfalz District, at least in the late 60's. K-Town was nice too, but it was always good to get back to the "Bach". I'd love to see a Sembach reunion materialize. I went to the K-Town reunion this past summer in San Diego and Sembach was well-represented.

Comments: Hi everyone! My sister Pam told me about this site, it is really great. I would like to hear from anyone who remembers me or my sister, Pam or my brother, Tracy. I have been married for 12 years and have 2 boys, Brandon 11 and Corey 6. My husband is in the Air Force and we are stationed at Spangdahlem AFB, Germany. We have been here for 3 years and have 2 years left. My brother is also in the Air Force and just moved here in August, so if anyone wants to get a message to him I can deliver it. My sister and her husband are stationed in Okinawa, Japan, also Air Force. I'd be real interested to hear from old friends. Take Care, Tamara

Comments: Hey everybody. Another fellow Sembacher looking to find some old acquaintances. I am looking for any body who might remember me from Sembach Elementary School. I was there for the 4th through the 6th grades. Definately one of the best times of my life. Some of you might also know my sister, Cindy Chauncey. She went to Sembach Jr. High and then on to K-Town through the 11th grade. We are both living in wonderful Indiana now and would love to hear from anyone who might remember myself or my sister.

Comments: Was just reading all the comments and started feeling nostalgic about Sembach. If anybody remembers the RED family of six who lived in 51-C6: Vickie class of 75, Tom class of 77, Mark class of 79 or myself we would love to hear from you. We moved stateside in December of 74 and did not get to see a lot of our friends before we left. We all played baseball and football, my brothers played on the junior Tiger teams. So, if anybody remembers us please contact me.

Comments: Take me god, I've lived my life. I can't believe I've found a web page for Sembach....ites. This is too funny! Would love to hear from Terry Kalichek, Dewey MacAdoo, Mike Roberts, Mo Sweeny, :-) James O'Connell ( lots of others but the memories are a bit fogged ) . I lived at the AYA, as anyone who knew me could attest to, but when I got tired I would go sleep at 32-A-1. Lovely little flat with a view down Suicide Hill. In the winter the maids room door empties out onto the final approach path to Mount Whitney. Some of the best memories of my life are from Sembach. Ran away from home at 13 and hitch hiked through Belgium, England, Paris. AYA trip to Berlin, skippin school and hangin out in K-town, those were the days. Somebody e-mail me, this is a riot.

Comments: To all who might be wondering what's happened at Sembach in recent years, check out the following URL: members.aol.com/bigmac2469/. Looks like someone made good use out of one of the hangars on the flight line. Brings back memories of Butch Hill and me riding our 10 speeds down the runway back in '74 when the flight line was closed.

Comments: Just figured I would drop a note on this page to say "Hello" to all the fellow Bachers...strange how we all talked about going back to the world and now we all reminisce about the past...wondering what happend to people like Suyen Stewart, Darren Hays, Sabrina Horne, Jermaine Null, Greg Foster, Natascha Vincent etc. Things have been going unbelievably well for me. I actually graduated from Columbia Univ. this past Spring with a Master's in Int'l Affairs and I now can read and speak Chinese! Serving time at Scott AFB in Illinois...look me up if you are in the area. TschuB! Also my sister (Juvember) says "Hi" too and I can always forward comments to her...she's in New York working on 5th Ave...
