Special Note: Due to space and time limitations we will no longer post messages from former active duty personnel on this page. We're sorry, but this web space was created to allow dependents and folks associated directly with dependents to find old friends and classmates. While we realize that the military experience overseas was similar with regard to making and then losing touch with friends, we must resrict our meager resources for use by those of us who had no choice but to be there. Sorry.

Comments: What a great site! Before I found this site I thought those years would be nothing more than fading memories. Although those years of my life are among the fondest of my youth they have been fading, but thanks to this site so many memories of people and places around Sembach have been refreshed for me. Like Mr."T" what a cool teacher I remember playing the slot machine at his house and listening to Bach recordings on the pipe organ. One summer I kept Mr. Campbell's golden retriever while he took his family stateside. Some of the people I remember are Karen Waldeman [who I contacted via this site and she rememberd me by the green army jacket I always wore it had some cartoon on the back I think it said beer drinker and hell raiser or something like that], Ok back to names I remember, Kennith Crisp, Kenny Sanders, Chris & Denise Moore, Richard Holmes, Carol Blunt, Susan Crib, Bruce Perkins, Lenny Pleasure, Steve Stiener [we went camping in the woods at the base of Mt. Whitie once and made some concoction that we called Pogue and Stiener stew], William Lamier, the Byrde's and the Skinners. Hopefully more to come in the future as this site continues to jog my memory. A big heartfelt THANK YOU to the man responsible for maintaining this site. You have given us back the neighborhood from our youth that we had lost like so many other military brats. Would love to here from anyone who remembers me. I have tried to email Kenny Sanders but it dosent go through I get it back almost instantly would appreciate if some would let him know I am tring to reach him. Thanks for letting me blab for so long and take care fellow Sembachers.

Comments: Oh man, the memories. I miss Germany with a passion and hope to go back and see where I grew up most of my young life. I lived in Vogelweh and K-town from 84-89 and then Sembach from 89-91. If Steven Nadeau, Daniel Revelant, or Rosetta Adams from Vogelweh are out there, please email me. If Jeremy from sembach is out there, email me too. anyone else who was there at the same time, email me to talk about the old days. Oh, does anyone know of this kind of board for other bases, ie. Vogelweh, K.I. Sawyer, or others? Let me know. Thanks and much love to the military brats! Peace!

Comments: I just thought I would come back here and post again. It's cool to keep up with so many people from Sembach! I talk to and/or see quite a few Sembachers on a frequent basis including Megan Dahl, Ryan Francisco, Heather MacFarlane, Kevin Kirsch, Meggan Mincher... It seems strange that I have left Germany 5 years ago and how close the bonds are with you all! As for me, I am finishing up my last semester at the University of Virginia and have been with my boyfriend who's in the Navy (I have to admit, the Air Force is a whole lot better!) for over 2 and a half years. Come visit my homepage to learn more! Hope to talk to you all soon!

Comments: This page brought back so many memories for me...although my family lived on "the economy," my dad worked on Sembach. I dated Gary Wilson (used to play baseball there, along with my brother, Scott Ritter). Gary and I were married, had two wonderful boys (Greg, 14 and Chris, 12) - we're divorced now, but still in touch. We used to hang out with Mike Barna, Glen (memory attack), Steve Belcher, etc., etc. So much fun! I played softball with Nettie Sanders and Toni (another memory attack...her dad was our coach!!) -- needless to say, it's been a long time. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers me...until then, take care.

Comments: I have had a great time reading these comments. At 51 years old, I still have fond memories of Sembach and playing football for the tigers. Dad was with the 38th Tac Missile Wing at the time. Spent a year at Hahn Air Base and lived in the Village of Zorron for a year before being shipped to Sembach. Have been in contact through this site with a few people who were around in the general era I was, but nobody I really ran with. It is funny, the younger (?) tigers, 20 years after my group or more, had the same experiences as us. Maids rooms parties ( we won't go there) youth sports, playing guns in the woods, classrooms in the basements, football in the bowl, and so on. My sister Linda, and I loved that place. Wish my kids could have the same experience.

Comments: Hi! It's me again. I was going through some of my old pictures from Germany and thought about a few more names like Lillian Hughes, Dana Brothers, Linda Thompson, Kenny Walker, Mike Graham, Schannon Miller, Greg and Sara Mitchell, Pam Belamy, Diane and Tommy Cowles, Brenda Thompson, Teresa Strohmeimer, Christina Willingham, Mike and John Delmaso, Mary Pickering and Dawn Habberstad. Sembach was such a great place to live. I lived in 77 A-2. I never felt such a great sense of unity in my life, as I did in Germany. I am so glad to have found this site. I can't believe that we actually went 3 years without a telephone! If anyone remembers me please get in touch! Thanks!

Comments: Hi everyone! This page is great! Sembach was a wonderful place to live. I don't think that I have ever in my life felt such unity. I had to laugh when I read some of the comments about sledding in the farmers field and the farmer with the salt gun! The AYA was my hang out. Remember playing foosball? What about the dances on the weekends? I had Miss Schafer for 5th grade, Miss Duffy and Miss Cornish for 6th grade and Mrs. Pinkney for 7th grade. My best friend was Kim Sklar. We hung out with Alyson Poluleck, Laura Stoner, Dawn Habbernath, Pat & Paul Biancotti, Lanny England, Mike Graham,& Fred Sievers. I was on the Sembach Jr. Traveling Team for softball and our coach was "Skip". Monica Rivera was my "Sister". I would love to hear from any of you, or anyone who remembers me or my brother Gary.

Lysle Lackey were are you? 2.Playing Pop Warner football on the Packers. Sgt Louden was our coach and had the coolest car on base. A black cadillac with "Batman" tail fins. Yes, we called it the Batmobile 3.The great 4th of july carnivals we had every year. 4.Saturday morning movies at the family circle theater. 5.Frances and Kathy Kattecheck, Penny Armetage, Geri Siegle, are some of the people I would love to hear from. Comments: Wow, flooding memories. The trip to Anne Frank house with the 1968 8th grade class. The boy scout trip to Berlin and the summer camp in Verona Italy. Going to the American Cemetery in Luxembourg. Our friend Bruce Davidson (I think) who died of lukemia. Ralph Wylie playing tailback for the AYA Tigers, catching passes in the flat. Captain Moody's bare foot field goals. Eating at the Rod & Gun Club. Walking home from Boy Scouts, and an airman yelling "Nice Socks!" out the window at me (They were Day-glo green, it was 1969!). Leo Ritchie, Tony Hession, Lynn (Mickey) Siegler, the "Coffee House", the Ramstein NCO club on Saturday afternoons. You might also remember my brothers, John and Steve.

Comments: I just returned from a two week vacation to Europe. My family left Sembach back in 1980, and I had returned one time after that in 1982 I think. Well, after spending a few days in Vienna, we headed over to Germany, and the first place I wanted to visit was good ol Sembach. We drove up Snake Hill and made the right turn by the big tree to head in into the entrance of the base. There was still an american MP at the gate. After explaining to him that I had lived there when I was young, and showing my passport, he let us through. I was amazed at how little anything had changed in almost 20 years. The base has not changed a bit. To my surprise, all of the base housing is still being occupied by americans. The Schools still look the same, and the AYA is still there. After driving through the base, we went to Sembach Village where I had lived. Now I noticed a lot of changes. There had been tons of new houses erected in areas that I had remembered as beeing farm fields. Well that's a brief update on how Sembach is today. All in all, it's still pretty much the same. Comments: Hey! I heard about this throught my little brother, Klaus Harris. As you know, he and Pam (High School Sweethearts are married with children) I'm married and recently moved to Colorado Springs, from Germany. I have a 16 year old daughter and a 4 year old son. I'm working as an accountant for a distribution company. It's really great to be able to find out what's happening in the lives of former "Bachers". I'm really interested to find out whatever happened to Greg Mitchell, who was Mr. Sembach with me at the Junior HS in 1978. Tony Klar and Martin Polk also come to mind. Not to forget all of the girls I taught cheerleading to on Sembach that became Raiderettes. No E-Mail as of yet, but I'd love to hear from those that remember me. 20905 McDaniels Road, Calhan, CO 80808. Michelle

Comments: I just wanted to say, Sembach, after all these years: I never thought I'd miss you, but now you seam like a distant paradise. We all have sailed to other ports and the way back--the wake--is lost. There is no way to reach you. And 25 cents would get TWO games of pin ball at the Bowling Alley. AYA dances--dark corners brought to light in momentary pulses of strob--need to say more. And Junto, you know who you are, thank you for letting Burp and I use your maid's room to loose it. Now I can't get full satisfaction unless it's in room with no windows. :-) And I'm sorry for leaving the condom in your sister's shoe, for her to find, and to blame on you. It was my first time--and I didn't yet know what to do with them. Gone are the awkward days and the winds that swept our hair. I'm a man now--self assured.
