Comments: Hi everyone! My mom called and told me about this page and I couldn't wait to write. I am living in Cincinnati OH now. I would love to hear from everyone I used to go to school with. Comments: I was stationed at Gruenstadt AFS 882 Tac Missile Squad. We were attached to the 38 Tac Missile Wing. Sembach was our support base. Went to Senbach each week for launch training and all support necessities . Reading all the notes brought back many good memories. Have visited many time since I left the AF on business and peasure trips to Germany.

Comments: I lived in Vogelweh (1143 G and 1107 G) and went to VES for 5th (Ms. Poche) and 6th (Ms. Dale). Then I went to KJHS for 7th and 8th grade and to KAHS for 9th through 12th. My sister Shari graduated from KAHS in '89. Living in Germany and driving on the Autobahn RULED. I am finishing my degree in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science Engineering at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Comments: A KAHS grad, went on to Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska, recieved Doctorate of Pharmacy degree, now practicing in Brookville Indiana, my parents home town. That's the location a few miles south of Ramstein, where the 365' microwave tower is.(or use to be 20 years ago) I partied at Sembach, but actually worked at Bann. Comments: Actually, never lived in Sembach, but rather Ramstein village. Pop was stationed at Kapaun, and I went to RJHS and then KAHS My friends were Mike Wright, Jack Sprow, Mike Pluck, Mark Overton, Erik Hughes, and David something-or-other, among many others. I went 1-6 at Royal Oaks Elementary School when Pop was stationed at Torrejon, and then, 7-11 in Germany. My only U.S. schooling was my senior year at Northern Burlington Co. Reg. H.S. (McGuire A.F.B.) After that, F.S.U. both undergrad and grad. Now, I'm with a database publishing company in Seattle, and loving every bit of it, along with the great memories of my time in Germany. Comments: My thanks to whoever (or is it whomever?) set up this site. John Doherty (see his comments) was a great friend during my time in Sembach. I played basketball for Sembach Jr. High (75-76) and baseball for the Jr. Tigers (76-79), mostly SS and P. Some of my baseball teammates were Mike Barna, Gary Wilson, Steve Belcher, Bobby Jones, Ken Sanders, Jody Zarbano, and my brother Mike. Some friends from the Jr. High were Tony O'Neal, Beth Sullivan, Francis Shelton, Rory Hendricks, and Will Pickering (class president). The only mementos I still have are my baseball jersey and a Sembach frisbee. But this page has brought back many memories, all of them sweet.

Comments: My entire youth was spent in and around Sembach and I wouldn't change a thing. What an experience! My twin brother, Scott, and I were known as the "Kelley Boys". We were involved with sports, the Sembach Middle School French Club, and a number of K-Town High Organizations. My father was the principal of Sembach Elem. for about 15 years. I still maintain contact with Alex Holets but have lost contact with many other good friends. Now that I am Thirty something I look back fondly at the great experiences I had at Sembach and K-Town. The Bowling Alley, The Alte Munz, The Sportplatz in Muenchweiller, bagging at the commisary, skiing, bike trips, and the Winnweiler Schwimbad. I still maintain contact with Dave DePauw a social studies teacher at Sembach while I was there. Comments: Back again. I read one of the comments that said the flight line was closed. When I was there the flight line had no Air Force planes, just Army courier planes. We did have an Areo Club with four or five planes. Is it still there? My room was in building 219 (thanks for the map by the way). It's fun to retrace your way to work and it looked out accross the herm's field to the flight line. I remember going to the NCO club which was next door. The mail room was bldg 222 and I worked in bldg 113. When you were 19 or 20 with no wheels and no hair (no hair when compared to the natives your age in the 60's) it was safer to stay on base. Comments: Two years doesn't seem that long now but while living at Scumbach it felt like forever...now I realize some of my best teenage memories were of times spent there - guzzling steins of Bischoff at the gasthaus downtown, smoking on the way to school on those luxury tour busses, Monsters of Rock in '83, skipping out of Drama class early, yearbook class with Ms. Wilhoite, who was without doubt the coolest teacher at KAHS...I know military folk tend to run into each other so if anyone knows Steffani or Angie Pfeifer, Brad Moran, Jerry James or Craig McAnnelly please pass on I'd like to hear from them. I ended up in San Antonio & went to SWT where I saw Stephanie Bucklew & Jon Michelle. Now I'm a social worker in Austin. I'd enjoy hearing from anyone who might have known me in Sembach!

Comments: Although not a "brat", I was stationed at Sembach in the 587th Comm and Guidance (later the 587th Missile Maintenance Sq) and I really enjoyed reading all the comments about the base and things that I remember, like the honey-wagons, the stadium, 25 cent movies (script), K-Town and more. One person mentioned the Matador Missile "hill", I worked in the communications van parked on top! Seems like another life. Maybe one of your parents will remember me.

Comments: I have some of the fondest memories of Sembach. I did alot of running in those days and ran for TSG in K-town on my off hours. During the summmers I ran to Weinweiler (sp) every day to the pool. I wish I could run like that again. Also spent some time zipping down the autobahn in my friends 1969 911s Porsche doing well over 130mph. Hope my kids never find out. Might give them ideas.

Comments: This is a pleasant surprise. I went to Sembach right out of college and OTS. Loved every minute. Was the base Information Officer for my tour (now a civilian and stockbroker). Many, many great memories. Raced Formula M cars at Sembach, Ramstein and Hahn, donated the display Mace by the Officers' Club to the Museum of Sicience and Industry in Munich.
